For those of you that don't frequent the "Sales/Promotions" section...

AutoZone has Valvoline VR-1 Racing oil (all grades) for $2 off instant savings at the cash register. This is good until the end of the month... some have it until April 4th.

I picked up 24 quarts of the VR-1 Racing 20W-50. At $2.50 a quart, I was very happy!

Dang that is a GREAT deal, does that apply to the Synthetic as well? I may be switching to VR1 synthetic 20/50 here soon.

Jeff

Is that a regional thing? I just bought 4 qts of VR1 dino for my Electra Glide last Friday and I went to Autozone, Advance Auto, & O'Reilly's in NC and none had any specials going on. I paid $4.89/qt for it, but after ditching the $10-$12/qt m/c specific synthetics I've been running for 18k miles I was happy with that price, LOL.

Check their online flyer - there is some fine print in there that says that there may be some stores that don't honor the sale. I put in my zip code to find the stores that had the sale.

The price may not be in the store's computer.. I went to two Houston stores that had a YELLOW "$2.00 off" sign posted right by the VR-1 oils but the cash register still rung up the $4.49 price. I had to go and get the yellow sign AND the flyer before the store manager would manually put the $2.49 price in the register. They make you work for it!!

Same here, the first time it was not in computer so they had to manually enter the price. When I went back it came up as $2.49.

None of the stores I went to had yellow stickers indicating special pricing (saw it on other brands, but not VR1) but next time I buy some I'll be sure to check for sales in my area. Thanks.
