Great looking UOA. VPS is unavailable in the US as far as I know and this add pack does not look familiar for a Valvoline oil that I know of. Is this a gasser? TBN is very high for an oil in use for that long. Thank you for sharing!

What's the details on the engine? I'm lazy and don't want to google

Looks good. Strong ending tbn, any makeup oil added?

I thought the TBN was quite high too, considering the amount of kilometers I ran this oil for. Although, this car mainly gets used for long highway runs with the occasional short city trip. VPS is a workshop oil that my mechanic uses. It's semi-synthetic.

Engine is petrol and I always use E10 (unleaded with 10% ethonol).

The engine is a 2.7L V6 made by Hyundai (24 valve with variable valve timing). No make up oil added.

This UOA looks wrong.
Who did you have do it?
TBN was not that high after the miles run.
Normalization factor?
IOW, do we have to divide by .686 to get the real numbers?

The UOA was done by Oilcheck in Sydney Australia. I do agree with you that the TBN does seem too high considering the amount of kilometers on this oil.

Just as a precaution, I decided to take 2 samples of this oil and send it to 2 different labs for analysis (Oilcheck and Roktex). I am still waiting for the result from Roktex. It takes longer as the lab is in Perth, Western Australia (the other side of the country).

I hope you'll post this second UOA.
It'll be intersting to see, especially if TBN really did end up that high.
Who knows?
