Valvoline Synpower Mixed with Maxlife Blend?

curious why you'd want to? why not just run the maxlife?
I have a case of the synpower and want to use it, not sure? I may return it too. I am running Pennzoil conventional right now and it seems great. I used PP for 60,000 miles. I don't know if I need High Mileage oil at this point. I want to use the Valvoline because of all the rebates I received, I actually scared to run the Maxlife, truth be told.
Don't be scared, blend away and use it up, you'll be fine.
Mixing different oils won't hurt but the procedure fortifies the weaker oil or weakens the stronger oil.

If you don't have any leaks or consumption, why the need for High Mileage oil?
I'd stay with your regular changes and use what has worked for you in the past-PP. If you have a case of SynPower, use that oil for your car.
No need for MaxLife or any other High Mileage oil if your car does not have leaks or burning of oil.

What are your fears about MaxLife? It's shown itself to be a high quality oil that puts up very good used oil analysis. It's a bit of a sleeper oil in that it seems to have a great additive package but doesn't cost as much as it seems it should (probably a limit on what you can charge for anything labeled semi-synthetic). Valvoline's website states it safe for use in new vehicles and rebuilt engines, as well as older vehicles with 75,000+ miles on them. Use it with confidence

I'm currently using 4 quarts of MaxLife 20w-50 & 4 of Synpower 20W-50 in the 1991 Mercedes 420SEL. Second run with this combo and everything is just great. Added about a half quart of top-off oil near the end of the 1st approximate 7K OCI.
Got 19.4 mpg on midgrade on the last tankful, which was mostly highway driving.
Not too bad for a car old enough to vote!
