So have you perfected cold fusion as well?

Dude, water is a fluid and is NOT compressible. The reason moisture in a hydraulic brake system is a bad thing is that water will boil under the temps encountered in a braking system, and water causes rust and corrosion.

Technically, water IS compressible, but granted not at the pressures seen in a normal braking system. I agre with your other point: moisture does cause a number of problems in braking systems.
 
Our walmart still have bunch of next gen on clearance, and they stock back white/red bottle on the shelf, all green bottle is on clearance section.

to the OP what oil filter did you use ? any oil leak ? I know rear main seal or oil cooler gasket is leak on these engine, i have both leak, but not bad, still getting 45 psi at cold, and 40 at idle hot, and 42-43 crusing.

I simply disagreed with you, may want want to temper the hostility a bit. Agree that water causes other issues over time and note that technically water by itself does not cause rust, rust only occurs in the presence of oxygen

I stand corrected, you can compress a liquid. You learn something new every day. However, I don't think you'll get any measurable liquid compression in the oiling system. My original point is: a 50% decrease in oil pressure is not directly the result of the oil. Its mechanical.
 
I drive a bus based on a Chevy Express 3500 DRW Chasis with the 6.0L
and I believe the oil pressure sits about 20psi at idle, and around 40psi when driving. I'll check tomorrow, and update if it's different. It runs mystery bulk conventional from work, and a Wix filter.
(The conventional is mystery as I don't do the maintanence because its a company vehicle)

My response was a little snooty, and for that I apologise, but you stated that "water is easily compressible", and that's not a matter of simple disagreement, it's a matter of being incorrect.

NP, I was incorrect as well. I should have stated that water vapor is easily compressible. The issue with moisture in a breaking system is when it heats up and causes a spongy pedal (and long term corrosion/rust issues you pointed out)

Apologies to the OP for hijacking his thread, am curious if he swapped out that filter yet
 
My personal favorite response on a question about oil pressure from a 2001 GMC Sierra owner "its got double digit oil pressure...keep running it. "
 
Sorry for the absence guys. The problem was a bad stepper motor for the oil pressure gauge, which after some searching, I found out is a common issue for my body style truck...actually for many GM vehicles like the Silverado, Tahoe, etc. My dad who has a 04 had several broken motors. The motor was $3 on eBay, and the same motors run all the gauges(alternator, speedo, temp.) It took me about an hour to fix, and my dad was quoted $600 for the dealer to fix his speedo. Buy the X27.168 motors as these are the better ones. No problems with the oil, still looks clean and was about $5 after a $20 rebate at Advance with a PureOne filter. I plan to keep using it if they keep offering specials. Thanks for all the help.

When my oil stash finally runs out (still over 100 quarts) I would buy NextGen unless the other Valvoline is cheaper. NextGen should be every bit as good as the regular Valvoline.
