I just had my 2003 Durango in the shop for my transmission service. I don't go to the dealership due to many instances of bad advice and lies I have had over time. Anyway, they used this Valvoline Maxlife in my transmission. I asked him why this instead of the ATF +4 and he said that this is basically the same stuff! Valvoline makes the fluid for DC. I need to know what you knowledgable people think about this. I grabbed a bottle and it said on there that it was ATF +4 compatible. I would really like your insight on this Valvoline. Thanks in advance.

Sorry Guys and Gals. I did a search and found MANY answers to my questions. I think I will go that route from now on.

thunderchild-
A Valvoline Instant Oil Change facility used MaxLife ATF in a 96 Stratus V6 41TE trans in 7/02. It had nothing but irratic behavior, shifting too soon-lugging the engine, and eventually the valve body had issues needing attention. Valvoline did everything they could to disregard my aggrevations. It is VERY irritating how Valvoline is BS-ing people into using it for ATF+3 and ATF+4 applications. It would be my sincerest suggestion to avoid using that ATF in a trans calling for ATF+3 or +4. Good luck!
