Actually there is some truth to this. Many cars were partially or fully submerged in water which required at least one full flush of all fluids (i.e. engine, transmission, differential, brakes, PSF, etc.) One vehicle might take any where from 10 to 50 quarts for one full flush. Personally, I would do two full flushes just to be safe.
Hurricane Katrina was over THREE years ago! Most cars out there do not use Mobil 1 or even Mobil branded oil. There is no indication on Mobil's website that their refinery in Baton Rouge or the lube facility in Port Allen is not operating normally.
