I have to service a somewhat neglected 8L45 (automatic 8 sp GM transmission) in a 2017 Cadillac ATS 2.0T and it calls for Dexron LV HP fluid. The latest version (blue label) M1 Dexron LV HP is the fluid everyone says to use. Apparently these units have a strong tendancy to have TCC shudder if wrong fluid is used. I was curious if anyone has any experience with Valvoline's newest Extended Protection ATF in one of these GM 8 speed units. I already have this fluid in stock, and it claims compatibility with both the DexVI AND LV DEX HP specs. I noticed that the blue label LV Amsoil ATF also claims compatibility with both of these specs as well, but costs me about $20/gal more than the Valvoline, which I already have in stock. Any input with personal experience on this transmission, using the Valvoline or another fluid with good long term results would be helpful.TIA, and cheers!
