Changed the valve cover on my 06 Sentra with QR25DE. Current oil is Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30.

54k miles on the engine.

Ran the following oil during its life:
-70% Mobil 1 5w30
-20% Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30
-Pennzoil Ultra 1 OCI
-Royal Purple 1 OCI
-Havoline Conventional 5w30

This car sees lots of track and mountain roads (high rpm), so I changed about every 5k.

Looks fantastic

Good job taking care of this motor! I worked at a Havoline Xpress lube shop before, and I've seen a lot of cars with between 50,000 to 80,000 miles that seem to be well taken care of, build up a heavy amount of varnish on the internals.

That valve train looks like the day it was made in the factory!

It's so clean because Mobil 1 5w30 stripped off a layer or iron and steel, hence the high wear metals often seen in used oil analysis. Just kidding!

Thanks guys. I try to give her good maintenance, had the car since I was 18, now 25.

One of the spark plug seals had a slight leak.

Mobil 1 a course cleaned that up. Looking forward to mine in 20 months...when I take off my valve cover and see the varnish completely gone. But mine would be a mix of synthetics, oldest stuff I have used first as well; M1 and Castrol SynTec not Edge.

Yes, nice indeed! I have the same engine in my '04 Altima 2.5S. I should think that mine looks similar

Did you replace the PCV while you were in there? Probably no need really since everything is sooooo clean!

This is still a young engine. Curious as to why you took the valve cover off?

Also at such low mileage, I wouldn't expect any engine to really be that dirty at a normal OCI. What would be more interesting is taking the cover off after 100K or 150K of quality synthetic use to see how the engine holds up.
