Of all the complaints about USPS, why don't you guys try to ship 2 rotors from New York to California from any shipper.
You will find that USPS Priority Mail is the cheapest and fastest too.
Or try to send a standard mail weight 1 oz or less from New York to Hawaii. How much it will cost you with Fed-Ex or UPS ? It is only 49 cents with USPS.
USPS is not perfect, but it is better and much lower cost than other shippers.

So, looks like EVERY SINGLE ITEM I order online, nomatter who ships it, is going to get screwed up. My engine mounts back in March via FedEx, NUMEROUS issues with UPS and now a Key.
The USPS tracking number says it was attempted to be delivered, but no secure location was found and a notice was left. 1) There was no notice left. 2) Ihave a locking postal box issued by USPS.
Oh well. It is only $10 lost. Not that big of a deal.

I just sent something across the country USPS priority express.
I scheduled a pickup for Saturday afternoon and the package got to the recipient on Monday morning.
It went across the entire country, in less than 2 day and over a weekend for $10.

I can't believe this. The trailer wiring for my Focus has been handed from UPS to USPS.
Awesome. So, now I am out of a $10 key and a $25 trailer wiring kit.
Total wasted last week: $35.

The post office couldn't handle putting a commercial envelope into a mailbox. I can't imagine they are going to be able to deliver a trailer wiring harness without messing it up worse.
Plus, the fact that I called them and complained probably doesn't bode well for me.

You are in an Apt right? We had issues with stuff getting "lost" even in a 5 unit building... We had some clueless neighbors, plus poor box labeling, but eventually we got it all sorted out.

Called the post office and they were able to contact the carrier. Carrier "doesn't see why it can't go in the box". So ... not sure what was happening yesterday, but today it should be in. We hope.
Now I am smart enough to know that if it doesn't, specifically, say UPS Ground ... it will be handed off to the USPS.

Well, I now understand why they couldn't leave it in the box in the first place. It is a bit large for my mailbox. If it was a 8.5x11 legal document, it would have been destroyed by the mailman cramming it in there.
Got home from work and it jammed up the latch assembly it was so large.

I agree, but USPS desperately needs to completely revamp their tracking system to a system that is in real time and accurate. As it is, it can be anywhere between accurate, to showing no status whatsoever, and it's rarely accurate...
