Not in my experience with the few hundred orders thru E-Bay & Amazon in the last 12 months.

I get mail service from mainland china faster than Fed-EX can get me a package from Cincinnati, Oh to South Bend, IN. A distance of 260 miles.

That's good news. I mailed a sample to them in a small box on the 14th also. I got my UOA on Tuesday afternoon.

The strangest thing I've seen happen with the USPS was when I was stationed in Iceland. I got a Christmas card that was stamped "Mis-sent to Iran". It was sent through the APO, AE system, so it wasn't a matter of someone misreading Iceland as Iran. Needless to say, I just chucked it in the trash.

Anyone out there that thinks they could do better, hey, have at it!

I almost always get my packages from anywhere in the U.S. within 3 days, once in a while a couple of days longer.

Worst service is when the shipper uses Fed EX Smart Post, that usually adds a week for delivery till the USPS gets it.

I agree. Consider the postage cost for mailing first class mail from anywhere to anywhere(ex: from Main to Hawaii) is less than 50 cents, USS does an excellent job.

Yes, USPS's tracking is so bad they may as well not even post anything.

UPS, on the other hand, has tracking that is so accurate you can see every delay in the system. Even the ones that make them look bad. I've mentioned on here before the item I ordered that shipped on the Friday before Thanksgiving, then waited at a UPS hub all weekend, then moved again on Monday through other hubs at Maumee OH and Hodgkins IL and finally Addison IL (three miles from home) where it than sat over the entire four-day Thanksgiving holiday. I got it delivered on Monday after Thanksgiving.

USPS's shipping would have had none of those details.

While in my experience I would have had the item on wednesday before thanksgiving, using USPS.

I ordered a cover for my Q-link last year...ordered it Sunday, it shipped Monday, send Priority Mail. It went out from Cali on Monday, arrived in Reno...and just sat there for four days! I got it Wednesday of THE NEXT WEEK! Yes, "Priority" Mail took NINE DAYS! (Must have been "Low Priority Mail".)

UPS Ground managed to get my MC helmet to me from Arizona faster than that...ordered on a weekend, shipped Monday, delivered Friday.

Man, you aren't kidding! A couple months ago I had to ship a football (it's an official NFL game ball my late Mom got me for a Christmas present 20 years ago) back to Wilson to have the air bladder replaced. UPS charged me $25...can you believe $25 to ship a football? I don't know how people/businesses can afford to pay these kinds of ridiculous prices to ship things...

Maybe it helps for me to be in the middle of things. LOL

Ironically, the item in question shipped from Angola, Indiana... Probably missed a cutoff time at its initial UPS facility, then it went the "long way" via Maumee (Toledo area) only to arrive here at Addison (Chicago suburbs) just in time to hit the holiday shutdown.

Specifically regarding Blackstone samples: I just mail the plastic jars loose, with tape around the lid, one at a time. Only time I ever had a problem was the time the P.O. mixed-up the "TO" and "FROM" addresses and sent it right back to me the next day! Now I carefully print my own "TO" labels using a REAL small font, just to try and keep this from happening again.

Of course I've probably just jinxed myself. My next sample jar will probably get crushed and leak all over a post office facility somewhere!

Mailed something to my sister in NC on a Saturday afternoon via first class and it got there on Monday. That's pretty good if you ask me.

The Smartpost thing they have going on with FedEx is a different story...

I had my Jeep's last sample returned to me...the black container looked like it had been run over by a forklift!

I suspect this is because it WAS, in fact, run over by a forklift.

So somehow, someway said package got dropped and something, possible a wheel on something ran over it. Happenes every day in all businesses. As the old saying goes, Blank happens.

Haven't had too many issues with the USPS in general; I know 2 people that work as carriers and they aren't slouches. The only recurring issue I've had is with one counter person who is abrupt; no longer an issue, because the neighboring town's PO is only < 1 minute further by car. (there are 4 POs closer than any Fedex or UPS station)

Frankly the PO's strength is in the coverage area for standard first class mail. Gripe all you want, but you'll be griping more, if that business ever get turned over to the private sector.

I bought and prepaid for six Blackstone test kits. First one took over 30 days to get to them.
I think they mentioned the jars don't do well in USPS.

I then extended oil changes to 1 year, after a few more tests didn't bother testing. Maybe I boxed them up, I can't remember. I had one test kit left, which sat for a few years. Finally sent it in a year or two ago, in the round jar. Never got the results.

USPS tracking sucks! I get emails of package delivered two day after I receive it very often Their shipping updates are not accurate online either. I have a package that says expected delivery Feb 22. I check online my package left cinnannti Fri Feb 21. Of course I didn't get my package either.

After seeing all kinds of delays when sending samples to Blackstone in the black plastic containers, I now ship all samples to Blackstone in a small cardboard box, and address it to "Blackstone, Inc", instead of "Blackstone Labs".

They all now show up much quicker.
