I didn't see very much info one way or the other. I just purchased a bottle of mmo and SL1 and was about to fill up. But figured I would try and find if I should add both or just the SL1 and wait till next tank on the mmo.

I'd use them seperately too, but according to Dave at RL they can be used together. If you plan on using them together do a full bottle clean up with the RL cleaner, by itself. Then you can use MMO with a maint dose of the RL cleaner after that.

Having said that, I use the RL cleaner just before an OC, and MMO all the time following the OC, up until the next OC then repeat the process. JMO

I use Red Line about once every 5000 miles. In the tank that gets the Red Line, I do not add MMO. Then I run that tank out as low as I can and on the next fuel fill I use MMO again. 4 ounces of MMO to each 10 gallons of gas. I use MMO in every fill up between Red Line treatments and I found the MMO works best in my truck with Shell gas. I don't know why but it just works even better with Shell 87.

I think I have also seen Rich Kelly over on the MMO website recommending the use of a good fuel system cleaner first then using MMO in each tank after that.

I'd use the Redline by itself and then use the MMO to follow up afterward.

While there shouldn't be any compatibility issues I don't think either would work efficiently with each other added to the mix.

I just added BOTH, since I put MMO 4 0Z/ 13 gal tank most of the time. I put in entire bottle of SL1 as well. Plan on doing that every 3K Mi. I also added 16OZ MMO to crank case oil and will run for 500-1000Mi prior to OC. I now have fairly new (11K mi now) Cobalt SS Turbo with Direct Injection..hoping to head off intake valve deposits.

I don't think there are any fuel or oil additives that will help prevent DI valve deposits. Less volatile oils (10w30 vs 5w30 for example) and filtering out oil vapors from the PCV (oil catch can?) will be your only hope.

Well, Redline states that a portion of the SL1 (with PEA)*survives* combustion to recirculate into the PCV system...will that help? Who knows...can't hurt. I'm going to bank on Penn Ultra to help as well. I figure some of that will also get back on the intake valves.
