I love my Fram Sure Drain and in case anyone isn't sure it's a plug that screws into your oil pan drain hole after which you only need to screw on a cap to allow your oil to drain without using wrenches, etc.

My question is I noticed the threads for my 2000 Nissan Quest oil pan drain plug are the same diameter as the transmission drain plug. The oil drain plug may be about a 1/16" longer - anyone think there would be a problem on using the Fram Sure Drain in the transmission drain plug.

I've never serviced my transmissions before and I just bought this vehicle and am thinking of at least just draining the 4qts. or so of transmission fluid out and topping it off with new Pennzoil DexIII at every oil change.

Given the fact that you don't drain the transmission fluid nearly as often as the oil, I would have to say why chance it.

I have the sure drain on 3 cars and another one for a fourth. I put a small clamp at the point where the hose attaches to to the brass connector. It works great.
