Using anti-seize on transmission/diff plugs?

There may be some confusion on this thread. There are two different plug designs - pipe thread and conventional.

Pipe thread designs need the thread treatment.
Conventional plugs shouldn't normally need a thread treatment, but they do need a crush washer or some type of gasket under the head.

Indeed. I was thinking some people are just reading (or not) and not listening...

I had to use a 24" breaker bar and special 13mm square socket instead of a 1/2" socket wrench end to get my plugs out. On the advice of a Nissan tech I used a tread sealant.
 
I have been using a small dab of RTV on drain plugs (trans, diff, coolant, etc).
My oil pan plug has been replaced with a valve, when installed I used RTV during the installation and have not removed them since.

I also use Teflon tape on all me brake bleeder screws threaded portion. Then a long rubber cap.
