This is the ST 16 that came off the 2004 Jeep Wrangler with the 4.0 that had 140,000 miles on the engine and the person told me five or 6000 miles on the oil they couldn’t remember. The SDF 42 is what I did to flush with on this engine. Inside this filter does not look good at all. I sent a picture of the date code. Looks like I need to do some short interval oil changes for a little bit to see if it will clean up the inside the engine.

I wouldn't use a Supertech or Fram if it were free
Prior to this, all the cut and posts of supertech filters looked very good. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the first one with bad end caps and twisted media.

I will admit I have not kept up with what SuperTech has been using across their whole catalog the last couple of years, but I am surprised to see a FRAM made fiber end cap filter in their lineup. Would have expected it to be a Champion Labs made item.

Yeah, if one really hasn't paid much attention to the basic ST spin on, seeing Fram made fiber endcap spin-on surprising. That said, the 'relatively' wider diameter ST spin on have been Fram design/made for a while now. The ST2 posted here earlier this month another example. I think there's some cross over between the ST and the Fram Core or whatever Walmart calls their TLE/ACC filters now, seen similar application treatment.

As for topic filter, as ragged as it looks, as long is it didn't tear and seal maintained at center tube ends, best can be said, it survived.

Thanks for c&p.
