This question is in regard to my auto transmission remote filter which uses a regular oil filter. should I changed the filter based on mileage or time wise, I only drive about 8 miles a year, and worried if the filter is left to0 long it might disintegrate due to old age. ahouls I worry about that happening?? BTW this is on my 91 Pathfinder with 145k miles..thanks for any input, I'm currently using pure one and changing it yearly.

Once a year is quite adequate. I run Amsoil bypass filters on the transmissions of my cars and have never plugged one up, even after 125k miles. So in this situation, I think a time interval is more appropriate than mileage.

I added a B&M remote trans filter kit that uses an engine oil filter. It is much more filter than an internal trans filter. I only have 20,000 miles on it so far. My intention is to change the filter when I change the trans fluid, every 30,000 miles.
