Tiny tires! I don't mind going after the front pinch weld. Not sure what else I could mod to go taller, from ~29.5 up to 30.5+" tires. A lift??

This 9950# rated beast came with Load range E 265/65R 16C tires

What would YOU do?

There have to be forums dedicated to these vans in every configuration with how to do whatever. What are you trying to do? The 245/75 gives you the 30.5".
There is and they have some good advice, but there are some real tire experts here on BITOG.

I also want more varied input. Tire Rack for example had ZERO KNOWLEDGE and just basically ghosted me nicely (not in their playbook, so to speak)
I’d look at 245/75r16. Larger diameter but might actually improve fuel efficiency.
Thanks - that one did pop up here:

Are you looking for more ground clearance or better looks or both? You mention the pinch weld, if you have to get out the big hammer to fit a 1" taller tire you don't have much clearance. As for lifting, any time you mod away from stock you have the possibility of reducing reliability. I think most trucks look under-tired with the OEM size and usually go up a size when replacing but have never had to modify the body to do it.

The van looks ridiculous with the small tires and some more ground clearance would be nice. The mods are easy and should not harm reliability. I will continue to look. Going 17” wheels doesn’t seem to increase tire size options- maybe wider and taller though.

Larger diameter tires will effect your power to the ground, and increase stopping distance. It will usually also negatively effect MPG. Just something to keep in mind.

On our Dually which towed a heavy 5th wheel, I kept the stock tire size to maintain it's towing ability, just in an A/T over the stock all-seasons. For better traction in sketchy situations.

As others have suggested, seek out a website dedicated to your vehicle. There aren't published charts that will tell you if a tire fits under the fenders - and there are 2 ways to tell. One is to measure with a laser and the other is to try it and see if anything rubs. The biggest problem is that the worst condition is the front wheels, fully compressed and fully turned - essentially impossible to achieve in the real world, but relatively easy in cyberspace!

I did both Tire Rack and Discount Tire, and like you said above, Tire Rack had a real problem with alternate sizes. But Discount Tire recommended an LT225/75R16

I completely typo'd. NOT 265! No wonder I couldn't find tires..........geeze.........

Working with DT right now. No rush

Thanks everyone - I ask here sometimes to get my head straight. Not even sure why I though "265" 265/65R 16C not even a real size I don't think.

Anyway, looking at these choices.

That’s still a very odd size. The majority of the E rated tires in 235 were LT235/85r16s back when 16s were the common OEM truck wheel size.

245/75 is a solid choice but the 235/85 will give you lots of options (I think it’s still a fairly common size) in an E rated truck tire.

I’m going off my experience own a Ram 2500 which had 245/75r16 or 265/75r16 tires and it’s 3500 cousin which had the 235/85s or even a 215/85r16.

You might see if you can make a 215/85r16 work for you. The tall thin tires are really great for anything carrying heavy loads as they tend to have very good tracking and not much squirm. DT still shows several good options in that size.

What does the transit come with from the factory? Firestone or Continental C rated 225/75R16?

I may be intrested in your take-offs for my Promaster 2500.
