UPS rant

That is only to 1996. I had a cell phone since 1993 and was doing tax returns by computer by 1992. I would rather go back to the 1950s or at least the 70s.

You're an early adopter of technology but want to go back to a time before it? You can still handwrite a 1040 like it's the 1950s...

I started preparing tax returns in the 70s. We did them in pencil and photocopied them for the client and IRS. Even a complex return was so much simpler then. I had a method of math checking returns by entering income as a negative, deductions as a positive and taxable income as a positive. If the result was zero the math was correct. It resulted in an almost zero math error rate.

I would not even remotely consider preparing a hand written tax return now. And, yes I want to go back to when life was simpler and all we had to worry about was nuclear war with the Soviet Union.

We live in the times we live in, that was then, this is now. Old guys were saying the same thing 30 years ago. My simple mind looks at things like this simply, if something is agreed on or promised it should be delivered, nothing more or less. If i'm told my prescription will be ready at 2 pm then it should be. If I'm told the parts I ordered at NAPA will be there tomorrow then they should be. If UPS says a package will be delivered Thursday by 5 pm it should be. Can't believe we make excuses because the truck loader mixed the truck up or we should just accept poor performance just because. Wonder how a 5% failure to deliver as promised stacks up in other industries? That's a UPS problem not mine. Do what you say you will whether you is UPS or your mechanic.

People have been waiting for Jesus for a while. Odds are you're going to go to him first! ;7)
I agree on the "do what you say you are going to do" thing....but
We all make mistakes, not one of us is perfect, we are all late, all at some point fail to meet a standard

By in large deliveries are on time or sooner than expected.......but we dont sing their praises when it get to the destination early do we? Nah.

Point was, have a bit us forgiveness....unless you are perfect.....which we are not.

out of the last 4 things I ordered 2 were supposed to be next day and took 2-3 days.
that's over-promising to get the sale and under-delivering because they dont care.
