UOA or Not

When I did my used oil analysis at 3000 miles the #ers weren't that bad considering the car had 6000 mi. with the TBN at 3.8 yet they recomended I drain refill and do the same on the next used oil analysis. Is it because they don't believe in extended OC. Perhaps they think the type of engine I have needs 3000 mi. OC till it gets 10000 mi. Perhaps they think that whatever the book says is best. Then why if the oil still has good properties would they say that. Look I will change it every 3000 if it needs it but if I pay up for better oil AMSOIL is telling me the oil is better than that. I agree in extreams your wear #ers may not look good but at some point they should at least give you 5000 mi OCI.I saw examples where after 3000 mi the next change went to 12000. Perhaps I should change the filter top off and then sample am I doing it wrong or will the longer OCI come soon.

What type of car do you have? What is the displacement of your engine? You can look at the used oil analysis section and see what type of wear other people are getting with a similar engine.
