the plus 50 deere looks excellent for 7500 mi.i'm going back to that after fuel issue is resolved
anyone have any suggestions for the spike in magnesium?

Uggh CJ oil! i would only use this for mixed fleet GAS engine. Go back to the Deere CI formulation, it's a better oil. - The Mg is in the lesser oil formulation. Looks like you had fuel problems for 2 OCI's. GET TO FORD YESTERDAY! Dont take no for an ansewr this is engine killing problem! I had a bad bosch injector trash my Mercmarine turbo diesel in two weeks.

Get your fuel problem under control, then give the CJ another chance. Not fair to blame wear results of any oil for other issues. The JD 50 oil probably would not have fared any better with such high fuel dilution. BTW - does it take two UOAs 6k miles apart for you to realize you've got a fuel problem? Didn't your oil service warn you of this at 71k miles?

Why the big disparity between UOA durations? (30, 71k, 77k) You can't make any direct comparisons with such huge gaps in analysis, presuming these are the only three you've got. And, how did you get a 5k mile UOA between 71k and 76k miles? Did you OCI at 72K, after seeing such high fuel at 71K?

Too many variables with too little consistency to compare these and make any fair conclusion about oil performance.

wasn't trying to make any oil comparisions per se. after uoa @ 71,000(oc @ 72,000) between ford & oilscan we decided to go another 5000 mi and re-check due to constant short trips in extreme cold winter weather. reached another 5000 mi and re-checked with almost same fuel dilution, so appt monday morn. i don't like the fuel dilution any more than anyone else, but at 4% its only moderate according to oilscan, but with that taken into consideration everything else looks very good
