United and Eve Air announce electric air taxi service for San Francisco area expected to start in 2026

There was a helicopter shuttle service in the Bay Area in the 70’s. It was a larger helicopter and it flew between SFO and OAK on a regular schedule.
Man, with how bad Bay Bridge traffic gets on weekends and rush hour as well as BART-phobia many have if someone started this back up, Uber’s raison d’être of airport/event rides would evaporate. But now, with BART serving all but one of the major Bay Area airports(SJC), it’ll only be a VIP service especially during major sporting events(like the Giants/Dodgers, Warriors/Lakers or Cavaliers games at AT&T Park/Chase Center or major concerts at either Chase Center or Golden Gate Park such as Outside Lands) and execs who don’t have company jets.

I think it will be exclusively for the use of ticketed United passengers. At least initially. United has deals with Eve and Archer, while Joby has a deal with Delta.

Delta Concierge will also connect with Joby’s electric air taxi service that promises to transform the travel experience with home-to-airport transportation in the years ahead. Joby will combine the ease and affordability of ridesharing with the power of flight, making clean, more sustainable, quiet and affordable air travel an everyday reality.
Delta and Joby announced their partnership in 2022 and expect to begin operating to Delta’s New York (LGA and JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX) hubs in the years ahead pending sign-off from federal and local authorities.
