For those who still need a real phone (not cell) you might consider Unifi Talk. The net is each phone line is $10 a month. Got all the features you would expect in a digital phone. You can port current number.
You need to buy some Unifi hardware and a Unifi phone.
You can buy unlocked phones and have several phones on same number. Or locked phones and one phone per number. Locked phones are cheaper.
The phones can call each other as extensions.
The phones are wired or WIFI. To power the phone you would need a POE injector or POE switch. Obviously for WIFI you just need a POE injector at the phone.
I have 2 phones at each of two sites and they work fine.
The Unifi hardware will also handle being a gateway, switch, door lock access, video camera recorder.
We still have a Vonage home phone and I am considering switching it to Unifi. We have cell phones also. But a VOIP phone gives better call quality than my cell over WIFI. Crappy cell service where we live. The Vonage home phone works and we have 3 cordless extensions.
