2005 Chevy Silverado. Previous owner put 265-17's on the truck, while the original size is 245. Two sizes up is not a huge difference, IMO. Since its a 2WD, could I use the 245 spare on the front for a little while and not cause a lot of trouble? Maybe for a month or two?

No different than a donut spare, if you don’t have traction control it won’t much matter,
ABS might be a little wonky but to be honest if that’s the worst thing you do it’s no biggie
Just try to drive easy and not do hairpin turns on ice and you’ll be fine

Run it if you want. The abs might trigger easier than normal, but it won't cause any damage or extra wear.
I think high speed braking could be a bit squirrely. A used single tire is pretty cheap too. If your doing alot of high speed driving it might be worth the $30.

Is this the original spare - 13 years old?
If so, I'd recommend getting an up to date spare. A tire that old might not last even a week!
