Yeah any straight deodorant is only a perfume and may work to mask the odor with another more pleasant one. Maybe. An anti-perspirant on the other hand will tend to reduce perspiration and typically has a heavy-metal component to kill bacteria. For most people you don't have to use an anti-perspirant every day to control odor, only frequently enough to keep the bacteria in check. I'm allergic to the anti-perspirants that use zirconium compounds so I have to find one that uses aluminum instead.
I actually use this and it seems to be the least irritating. I also have had rashes from different deodorants. Old Spice seems to be the worst for me.
speed stick fresh has been my go to for as long as i can remember... at least since i started buying it myself...

Degree Advanced. It’s the only one I don’t sweat through AND doesn’t make my pits itchy. Axe unfortunately is the only other one that doesn’t make my pits itchy but I’ll sweat through that. Old spice makes me break out in a rash and Harry’s clumped up into these little balls?
