Pretty cool race.

What impresses me the most about it though is what a turd the LFA is for the money.

Its kingdom is not of the drag strip...

I too was disappointed, then I realized the car really isn't for the strip, it's not a great quarter miler car but it's more than respectable at top speed. If they geared it low it would probably do great! Calling it a turd is probably unwarranted.

The GT-R was AWESOME!

It costs $375,000, for that money its "kingdom" should be wherever you want it to be.

The GT-R can be had for under $100K, even the 458 Italia is $150,000 less than the LFA. The Ferrari's "kingdom" isn't the drag strip either but at least it flirts with 10s instead of 12s.

Only the Bugatti Veyron comes close to "whatever whenever," and it's WAY more expensive than that.

The GT-R gets lots of criticism for feeling numb and un-involving, whereas the LFA is one of the most exciting-to-drive cars you can buy.

The 458, on the other hand... I don't think Lexus has much to say about that.

Except the Veyron is not that great on a track.

Nor is it particularly exciting compared to other supercars.

That's why I said "comes close."

Before watching the vid I thought the GT-R might win. I've watched Top Gear test this car and I knew it was awesome. U can't beat it for a supercar, not for the price either. It's only a V-6 too.

because they can't have an American push rod V8 beat a Lexus.

nothing can do everything. lots of guys have built hot rods that could embarrass any of those cars in the 1/4, running 9's or 10's or better in a car that cost a few thou.
lots of low budget cars running at bonneville that are faster than them also.
but you'll be hard pressed to get one car to do it all.

The LFA costs nearly $400,000, Toyota had more than enough budget to make that car competitive in all arenas and yet it gets destroyed in a straight line by cars costing $150,000 to nearly $300,000 less, cars which also happen to be great track cars.

The LFA is simply way overpriced given its capabilities. Yes, I know that Toyota claims to break even or lose money on every LFA sold, but I bet Ferrari doesn't have that problem.

Submitted for comparison, 10 months ago thereabouts..

And, even faster, 2009. Ferrari FXX.

1 minute 10.7 seconds after you saw the Veyron SS is.. utterly amazing.

I am thankful to God that these two videos did not have profanity in the comments that you can see if you scroll down when you watch the video.

Also, that BMW V-12... incredible.
