You guys are spared from looking at the ugly front end from the mirrors. As of now, Toyota plans to sell several thousands Mirai only in California for 2 and a half years, from now until end of 2017.

One of the reason of limit sale in CA only is the available of hydrogen filling stations. There are very few stations in CA now, there are some plans to have 50-60 stations opened in the whole state by end of 2017. California is third biggest state behind Alaska and Texas, 50-60 stations isn't enough.

Electrocars have to look "progressive" to satisfy their progressive owners. I'll never get over that "I am ELECTRIC" sticker they stuck on the back opf their first battery car. IMHO "SO what".

When some of these cars are born, I hope they slapped the designer.

Beauty is only skin deep. Ugly goes clear to the bone.

A lot of these new cars are sure ugly.

Yeah, its almost as pointless as "HEMI" "5.7" "TDI" "VTEC" and on

Its marketing. At least the weird exteriors of the Prius and similar, are highly aerodynamic in design.

IDK I'm about as conservative as a person gets and if I didn't work in construction I'd trade my truck on a Tesla.

Model S or model X ?

I'm waiting for Model 3 introduction, if styling is okay plus driving range is more than 150 miles and price around $35k, I will deposit some money and wait for it to be delivered by end of 2017.

You look at a 'weirdo' long enough, you eventually get used to it. Compared to some of the current designs out there, Aztec actually isn't that bad, but when it first came out, it really did look odd and out of place.

I was just thinking the same thing. Of coarse I wouldnt be the one to ask as most of my friends think i'm loco for saying my favorite all time car is the Volvo 850 T5-R Wagon...

An AWD S, I prefer large sedans.

Design concerns at GM? They must have a woman running the place. Final answer.

I don't think it's fair to blame Mary Barra. GM has had some hideous designs spanning over decades. The mid 80's to the early 2000's were a fine example.

Is it just me or does the interior of that car look like some kind of strange mashup of 80's designs and more modern designs?

The vents remind me of what you would see on the 80's. The digital instrument cluster is in the wrong location, but it looks like a more modern version of some of the early digital clusters from the late 80's.

How the heck the styling designers can do this kind of work without being fired ?

The dash looks like the back of a 59 impala.
