Yea but why pay a skilled body guy $200 or $300 when you can replace the door for $2000.
Impressive. I have a friend that does PDR that could get it looking pretty good but I’m not sure it would be that good. Notice how the repaired shots are in full sunlight? That hides a lot of imperfections on a light colored vehicle when viewed in full sunlight.
The door intrusion beam is likely compromised and wouldn’t be a permissible repair in the U.S. if insurance or a reputable shop is involved. The video leads me to believe regulations wouldn’t be an issue.

He's lucky there isn't an OSHA over there. They would give him a hefty fine for wearing slippers.

Seasoned pdr tech here. Though his results seem impressive ……. i can assure you that repairs ALWAYS look better in a picture or video. Without using a light to cast a fade, or a line board to see the details, thats wavy gravy all day long. Impressive for hammer and dolly blend work none the less.

We had a deer run into the side of our silver Honda some years ago in eastern North Dakota. The dents looked a lot like the ones in the video - front fender and both doors. On the way home, just as were checking in at a motel in Montana, a guy in a small truck (with a couple of younger guys riding on the sides of the box) drove up and offered to "pull out the dents" for $100.
Do you suppose I would have gotten work of this quality in a motel parking lot, at dusk? Yeah, probably not.
Anyway I passed and had $3,000 of body work done in Edmonton. It isn't perfect either. It's quite good, but not perfect.

There's a guy out in CA that does work like that. I think his name is Dent King. I've seen fenders crushed like tin foil that he repairs. Wished that type of skill was more common.

It is so hard to find people that are willing to pay what it is worth to perform repairs on that level that its not even funny. Its not even cost effective to mess with it from a technician standpoint. Once in a blue moon you can find someone who is willing to pay for good work, however; its few and far between. Unfortunately the dent game just isnt what it used to be. I quote $100 dollar repairs all day long and most people want to try and start off haggling at $40 bux. Its become a tough way to make a living.
Just a shout out that I have so much respect for skilled PDR technicians. Here in Colorado hail can really cause some serious damage and skilled PDR technicians are highly sought after. I know one here that was meticulous with my car after it was hit by hail and was very appreciative of his skills!

I worked the Denver storm 3 years ago. Man that was a ruff one. Baseball sized dents combined with fixing poor pdr work from years prior…twas’ ruff…. Loved colorado though. Flew my wife up after the work dried up, and we did the whole Colorado in the summer thing. It was excellent.
Had a door ding done last year. Guy quoted $90. In 30 minutes it was perfectly fixed on a ridge/body line. Gave him a nice tip since I thought it was a steal.

Thats awesome that a you see value it the craft! I appreciate when some one takes pride in their ride. So many people now a days just beat their cars up and could care less.

yes and no. It will not “pop” a dent out the way that you will want it to. Super heating followed by rapid cooling will more than likely just end up warping the panel while possibly damaging the paint. It is not even worth trying in my opinion.Is it true that Dry Ice removes dents/dings?

Not trying to smash on your post but its more the lot Gypsy “i”ll fix your whole car for 100 bux” sheisters that try and peddle this kind of thing. I would strongly advise against it. I have seen the craziest hack things you could imagine while running the road chasing hail storms. Brings out some real bad dudes. Be VERY careful who you have repair your vehicle. Good work aint cheap and cheap work aint good.
For retail repairs, my dent guy charged $200 for 2 quarter size dents on a hood.
Wholesale is a different story
I’m sure I’ve seen at least as bad as you. Like anything else there’s hacks and craftsmen in all business.
Im only speakin to the OPs post where in he says he wishes there were people here who could do it.

Ah ok i gotchya’ i thought you were referring to the dry ice thing. Yes there are amazing techs here in the US. Check out Brice Kelly with central florida dent repair. You can find him on face book. The dude is absolutely amazing. I will take on crazy jobs but he is on another level! All PDR techs aspire to be on his level.
