UAC or Four Seasons A/C compressor

That one that was painted black, I think in a Ford Escape? I've been meaning to read the comments to see if he got roasted for it.
And the belt was too short because the AC pulley diameter was larger and he forces the belt on anyway.

He sure rotated that engine backwards more than would make me comfortable with OHC? Perhaps not a concern on the 2.5?

There's going to be a lot of extra tension on them bearings, with him forcing that belt on there belt on there like that. Just my personal opinion..
I dunno...I had the same thought but in the end he still had some throw on the tensioner.

I recently did an '01 RAV4 and it was basically the same story (although I didn't rotate the engine - and certainly not backwards!). I was a bit stumped but internet info/lore/myth seemed to indicate a tight fit with tensioner maxed out is common (shrug)

As for the Escape, I imagine the belt stretches a bit in the first 1000 miles and all is well. But I'm just making up stories in my head...

Reading some of the replies they both seem not so great. I had a Four Seasons installed by my mechanic and he said the first attempt it would not run and had to re-vacuum it down and then it worked. It sounds like a rock tumbler when on from the beginning but idk. Good luck w the UAC, if my Four Seasons quits I'll look at them.

Funny about the rock tumbler, the a/c compressor on my '11 SuperDuty 6.2 has sounded like this for years, but it still works (shrug)
