type f synthetic trans fluid

20 year old JD garden tractor 332 /yanmar 3 cylinder diesel, JD manual calls for type f fluid. Is they're a type f synthetic fluid? If so I feel it might handle the heat in the hydro transmission better. Thanks, G-man

B+M Trick Shift is a full synthetic type F. It can be obtained at performance auto stores locally.
The Amsoil is probably the best option.

Thanks for the replys. Do you guys know of any drawbacks it might have in a 20year old garden tractor? It seems it's mainly for racing transmissions. It"s a hydrostatic transmission..would that make any difference? Thanks, G-man

Type F fluid is simply ATF that has very few friction modifiers. If you have an application calling for Type F, any of the Type F compatible products will work well in it.
