I know ez-pass has a license plate mountable tag, of course its more money.. Texas toll should come up with something like that if they dont already offer it.

Hey 427Z06, did the SH130 toll loop around Austin ever get built? I helped do all the archaeology on that. What an interesting job that was....

Gotta love that black clay east and south of Austin.... I'll gladly take that tollway when it's completed. I hate I-35.

They do, but it is only used on certain vehicles that have some weird windshield coating and motorcycles.

Is it me, or does it seem completely idiotic that these tags are required to be placed in the center of the windshield, below the rear view mirror, creating yet another potential blindspot in the drivers critical field of view?

On both of my vehicles, 02 Camry & 06 B2300, when mounted 0.5 inch below the mirror post as instructed, the tag is out of driver's sight. The mirror itself blocks it.

130 goes from Georgetown to US 290 now. Works for me... The portion bypassing I35 to San Marcos will be completed this year, I was told.

I wonder if I should use it tomorrow, many bridges and icy weather make interesting wreck sightings.

Will agents of the Department of Measurements pull you over and measure proper sticker placement?

Exactly. Just like they will worry about the placement of your renewal stickers on your license plate and emission/nspection sticker. Its about the money not the placement.

Ohio is the same way about placement. Someone I worked with and her husband got stopped for the expiration sticker being in the wrong spot on the rear tag. His S10's bumper covered the bottom of the plate so he put the sticker in Upper right corner instead of Lower right corner. The cop said" did you know that's a X dollar fine for improper placement?" They did not, nor does anyone else on Ohio "roads".

If you tell them that you have a Sungate windshield (GM term), they'll give the license-plate mounted one instead, and I think at no extra charge. I'm pretty sure that However, I just put it in the windshield behind the mirror (as seen from the driver's seat), or up in the tinted portion. I've never had a problem with it registering the tag. There's another thing that won't work with a Sungate windshield: Windshield-mounted radar detectors.
