Two hybrid engine oil questions

I don't drive a hybrid but these two questions have been bugging me. I'm sure someone here can answer these for me.
1. In a hybrid, how do you schedule your oil drain intervals when the actual car mileage is a combination of the electic motor running and the regular gas engine running? 5,000 miles on the automobile is not necessarily 5,000 on the engine oil because some of that mileage was generated by the electric engine. Am I right in my thinking?
2. When you are drivng a hybrid and you reach the speed at which the regular gas engine takes over is this engine automatically thrusted into a fairly high speed RPM when its not thoroughly warmed up and oil has not been properly circulated throughout?

For that reason, I think just running a tiny gas engine makes more sense.

1. It depends on the automaker. Toyota has the same service interval for hybrids as it does for its conventional gas only vehicles-- 6 months or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first.

2. The hybrid only turns the gasoline engine on/off when it is at normal operating temperature. If you power on a hybrid when the engine is cold, it will automatically run the gasoline engine until it warms up. Perhaps ekpolk can comment more on this.

Hybrids and cars with auto-stop features seem like the perfect application for an OLM.

As to (2) I was pretty sure the Prius would auto-stop before the engine was warm, as long as the AC wasn't on and the battery was charged up enough but I could be wrong; it's been a while since I've driven one.
