Just hearing some of the stories makes me glad I have better things to do with my life than to park myself in front of a television set.

Finally something we agree on

I don't watch TV. I don't support Hollywood and their political agendas they are always trying to shove down out throats. If they just acted - fine...but they just can't keep out of politics. Good ridence to Sheen..

I read books, BITOG, take rides, work in stuff and I'm fine.

Maybe Charlie Sheen can marry Lindsey Lohan. That combination should self destruct and we won't have to hear about either of these freak shows again.

This^^^^.....

I used to watch it along with some other sitcoms and when they all became involved with "human relations"....I think you know what I mean.....I quit watching.

Last good sitcoms I watched was "Barney Miller" and "Soap".

Funny stuff back then!

I have to agree 100% with this.

ABC this morning was showing part of his interview which will be on a special 20/20 tomorrow night with Andrea Canning...It showed he passed all his drug tests...For right now anyway.

He could be bi-polar. Highs and lows etc. Some of these people are brilliant in what they do and can have the appearance they are on drugs. I have a first cousin that is bi-polar and a carbon copy of Charlie Sheen in personality.

Wife and I absolutely love the show. I think it's a shame he is wrecking such a good thing, having the no. 1 show.

But then again, severe drug addicts don't exactly make the most rational decisions!

I really hope he sobers up before he kills himself....

I will admit to watching the show.

The most recent episodes I have found extremely tedious to watch (Alan getting skunked), and the canned laughter grows more and more annoying, and the plotlines more and more predictable.

Modern Family sets the new benchmark for funny, IMO.

The show is not really my kind of humor. But I guess most of the current sitcoms seem to be that way. And seems like the dysfunctional behavior is glamourized. At least with a show like say Married with Children the dysfunction was seen as what it was. I liked the humor in Seinfeld much better.

I only watch sitcoms, and 2½ Men is one of my favorites, but when is the world going to get salaries of pro athletes and entertainers back to reality? I'm tired of people who make more in 5 minutes of work than I do in a year.

When millions of people stop paying so much to watch them do what they do. Their pay is equal to their value. Your value (and mine, too) isn't equal to theirs. The problem isn't what those people get paid. They get their fair share. The problem is what the average person believes they're worth. Pro sports and television actors aren't worth a dime of my money, but they're worth hundreds of dollars to millions of people, so the athletes and actors get to share in the profit, as they should.

What was the "value" of Albert Einstein? Sir. Sanford Flemming? Alexander Graham Bell? Benjamin Franklin?

Any one of those individuals has FAR more value than any professional athlete. Than any actor. But what they earned during their lives is a pittance compared to what these individuals make. I don't see any "value" in that.

FWIW, when Henry Ford died, his fortune that was left to his heir was just over 1 billion dollars.

Charlie Sheen is apparently worth 1.7 billion.

Now obviously inflation factors in there. But I think there is a serious problem when an actor, who's contributions to society are equivalent to those of a modern day court jester is financially on-par with the man who pioneered the assembly line and brought us affordable transportation.

I think this all speaks to how society doesn't value productive work and over values other things that aren't so productive and useful. As far as actors on a sitcom, they get their money from TV advertising. If the show has the viewers then they get the advertising and the money. So what are you left with? The junk on TV that the masses want to watch, which usually isn't good stuff. Another problem is even if you don't watch the program, you still pay for it whenever you buy the products that sponsor it. I don't begrudge any actor's or entertainer's salary if only they made it from ticket sales like to a movie or game. That's not the case with most TV programming. I mostly watch informational programming and automotive programming.

Syndication reruns are where the money really is at. If only Charlie had look-alike relatives who also happened to be actors who could fill in...

Hollywood at its finest!

It's been really sad to see Charlie go down the tubes.

Seems like cocaine always does the same thing to people. If they're not dead they're embarrassing themselves!
