I was hoping to hear from someone that tried it. I tried Griot's, Mother's and several others, a few of the more expensive products from an auto detailers shop a few towns away. There wasn't much of a difference that I could see to justify some of the higher priced soaps. The only product I didn't like was the RainX Spot Free. I like the claim that Max Care will remove tree sap, if you mix it strong enough. I may end up giving it a shot.

Another one I've had great luck with, if you can find it, is Eagle One nano Wax-as-U-Wash .

You might also try Chemical Guys Maxi Suds II

Believe it or not I've tried all three. They weren't bad, it was the ability of the TW to strip wax, and remove sap if used at the max dose that caught my eye. Thanks for the replies!

My take on this is, wash the entire car with the right car wash product, and if you need to take off sap, then target the area with the sap on it with a product made to take off sap.

If the soap is strong enough to strip sap, then it's also strong enough to go after your paint's protection, and that's something you want to avoid.

Point taken. I was going to use it at the lowest level, then kick it up for wheels, wheel wells, etc. Or step it up a bit before applying wax.

I have yet to use anything I like more than Turtle Wax Zip Wax car wash...amazing suds, amazing slickness, won't strip wax, and leaves a nice shine. What else does a car wash need to do?

I agree grampi! I have historically seemed to use too much soap. So I have been trying to make a point of using too weak a solution and adding a few capfuls later on if the suds and cleaning power start to fade.

I think for a lot of us at Bob's, we can use the bare minimum or even less since we generally take good care of our cars (e.g. Regular waxing, good products and techniques, shelter, and not waiting until it looks like you've went through a Sippie hole before you wash it).

Nothing, and you don't have to spend a fortune to do it. What I liked about the Max Care product, according to the info on it, is it's a concentrate boasting three levels of cleaning ability. General washing, a stronger dose for a very dirty car with bird blasts, and heavy dose for brake dust on wheels, no special cleaners needed. So they say. The middle dose would be a good cleaner before claying, or a polish and wax job. And its under $5 a bottle.
