As per the title, there's very little information available on this fluid, yet, right now, this is recommended for all Limited Slip Differential applications on all BMWs.

1) What does "MSP/A" stand for? Is this a German acronym of some sort?

2) Does this fluid have FM boosters (FM = Friction Modifiers)?

3) Who makes this fluid for BMW? Historically, BMW has been using Castrol or Shell for most of their OE fluids, so, I am going to assume it's one or the other, although if someone knows for sure would be better than speculating 🤔

I have already researched and scouted various forums, and very little information is available on this fluid

My application, is F82 BMW M4 with the electromechanical Limited Slip Differential (also known as Active ///M Differential), which uses an electric motor to lock up on demand. More detailed information on this LSD unit available at this link: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1018024

If you haven't watched them, there are two YouTube videos on a BMW differential service in which the wrong fluid was used.

F82 doesn’t require G5 specific fluid which is still it seems available only as BMW fluid.
This differential will take regular GL5, LSD 75W140 fluid.
As for MSP/A I bet it is German acronym.

This happened to Tyler Hoover with his SLS AMG Mercedes. He took it to the car wizard for service, and apparently lucked out as the wrong fluid was used but caught quickly. It seems odd that with so few transfer and differential manuals that so many specialists fluids are required.
