My truck has a cap (camper shell, topper, etc). I have not looked closely at how to remove the glass door, nor do I really want to. My question is, if I stack plywood or a kayak in the back, and leave the tailgate down, can I close the glass door on the topper and still do highway speeds? Or will pressure build behind the glass and remove the glass in a vary annoying way?

You should be good to go. With the door closed and the tailgate down: how is it really that different than tailgate up? Just close the latches as usual.

Sure, but i was worried about airflow causing a vacuum, which might try to suck the glass outward. Or inward. I don't think I have ever seen a truck going down the road with gate down and topper closed.

It shouldn't build any pressure, does it latch closed to itself or the tailgate? If it latches to the tailgate I would use a bunjeee cord and strap it to somewhere in the bed.

My truck has a cap on it and I've put the tailgate down carrying some 1x6x12 for our deck and closed the window with absolutely no issues. I almost think there is a slight vacuum that forms there actually pushing on the window against the cap shell vs pulling it out. Look at the buildup of dirt/salt that forms back there. If you have side windows, leave them closed so the airflow goes over the cap and not through it.

Good point. Makes sense. Ok, will try it sometime without worry then.

Latches to the cap so no issues holding it closed. Just that there is no frame of any sort, just one big piece of glass.
