Traveler 15W40 CJ-4

Hello, I just picked up a 1997 F250 with the 7.3 diesel. My local tractor supply has the 2.5 gallon jugs of Traveler all fleet 15W40 for $21.99! I figured $2/quart for HDEO is pretty good. What is the opinion on this oil here? I have seen some CI-4 used oil analysis, but what about the CJ-4 formulation? I'm probably sweating over nothing here, but if it's gtg, I'd be happy to use it over the $3/qt Rotella. Thanks!

I like T6 in my Cummins and can go 18K OCI. (12 QT pan). The used oil analysis at 18K was fine to keep using the oil.

Once we head back into cooler weather 10w30 works just fine in a 7.3 and will reduce the cold start romp.

Ok guys. I went to Walmart today to get my FL-1995 filter, and I saw Valvoline "High mileage" Maxlife HDEO, 15W40, semi-syn. I went to see how much it rang up as, it was $11.67/gallon! I just picked up four gallons of it and put it in the truck. I'll try to get a used oil analysis on it when I change it out

I used to have a 2002 F350 4x4 with the good old 7.3 made by International, awsome motor and very dependable. I used mostly the MotorCraft 15w40 in the 5 quart jugs sold at Walmart along with the Motor Craft FL1995 oil filter. As long as you use a decent diesel oil and good oil filter like the Motor Craft, you will be fine. I now have a 2011 Ram 3500 4x4 and use the Rotella T-6 with the Cummins Oil Filter.

Clean oil is the best oil,
That aside, tsc has travelers on sale right now 39$ per 5 gal pale. I just picked up 40 gallons. I use it in everything without issue.

Can't beat the $$$ and the Valvoline is going to work well.

Looks very solid and very similar in composition to Supertech. Probably going to use either one in the Roadmaster next change.
