Transmission Fluid Change: Check bolt vs indicated capacity

Would it really make a big difference if you overfilled it by a couple of ounces. I recently drained the MTF on the
MX-75 5 speed MT in my Focus which takes 1.9 quarts. I pumped in 2 quarts and nothing drained out because I was jacked up in the front. It's shifting great so I'm not worried about the extra 3 or 4 ounces doing any harm....or should I be?
FWIW....I drained out 75W GL4 Volvo MTF (which met the Ford spec) that I replaced the OE fluid with at 26K. I just replaced that fluid with Ravenol 75W MTF at 79K. The MT is shifting really nicely.

The 2.3L capacity is also predicted on the car being level when draining. Because it’s presumed the car will be on a lift.

So there is no way for you to know how much you will drain.
If you don’t want to do the level check, then the next best thing is to measure out how much you drained and put in the same amount.

Without a lift, I raise the front end and open both plugs. Lower to drain, raise again to plug drain and add the speced refill amount. Then lower it to let any extra drain out the fill hole. Raise to close refill hole.

The capacity is 1.9L and 2 quarts is 1.9 litres. You are good to go!

Honda fluid capacities have been iffy in recent years - they can take more. I would do the check.
