It seems more cars are coming without a dipstick. I have a 2007 A6. Currently it is under warranty, but if I keep it long term wouldnt it be wise to do reg trans service. My maintenance guide makes no mention of changing trans fluid, only checks for leaks.

For those of you with cars without dipsticks are you planning to change fluid, and how do you plan to get fluid back into transmission.

My Suzuki does not have a dipstick... only drain and fill bolts... I'll probably have to use a fluid pump when I change out the ATF fluid... either that or pay a shop to change it out...

Audi does not often recommend transmission service for their cars. However, the general procedure is to drain, drop the pan, clean and replace filter. Fill though "fill hole" in side of pan. Warm vehicle up to temperature and recheck fluid level. Also, I think transmission fluids for Audis (and newer BMWs) is expensive

If you pick a shorter interval, you can simply drain/refill the transmission. But, you'll need to reference the service manual on how to correctly drain, fill, and for level checking.
