tranny noise at idle

When I first crank my car in the morning and sometimes when I'm at idle my tranny is making some subtle, unusual noise. Its not constant, just intermittent.

I want to describe it as a grinding noise, but its not really a grind. It sounds like a friction or contact b/t some moving parts. I'm not sure what in a 5spd tranny moves while its a rest, but maybe its something to do with the clutch.

It is causing no problems, its just that I can hear it and I am wondering what it is.
I just put Amsoil MTG in my tranny and it is seeming to help it out somewhat.

I'll check that this afternoon. Could it be a throwout bearing?

Yes, the noise stops when I depress the clutch pedal.

Could this be a serious problem?
The Amsoil MTG has helped out with the noise, but is it just masking a problem in the making?

Thanks

Sure sound like an internal bearing.
Is it serious? Maybe not now but it won't get better by its self.

Possibly the input shaft bearing, A throwout bearing going bad makes noise when you depress the clutch.

Must be the input shaft bearing then. Its hard to describe the sound b/c it doesn't do it all the time. Its just an internal sounding subtle grind.

Should it need immediate attention?
