It depends on the reason for the leak.
If the ATF is old and dirty, you may have a very small particle of something between the seal and the shaft allowing a leak.
A run with Auto-Rx might save dropping the transmission and replacing the seal.
Also, draining and refilling with new ATF may do the job.
If the seal is sound but worn, some of the high-mileage ATFs contain additives that will "swell" the seal and buy you some additional miles. There are also additives that do the same thing.
Finally, if the seal is totally worn out, or torn, or damaged, you need to replace it. Nothing you can put in the ATF will fix a ruined seal.
