Finally! The trailer we use at our Churches food pantry was sorely in need of repairs. It started life as a boat trailer and somewhere along the way, someone fastened a plywood deck to the frame with dry wall screws. It lived its life that way for a number of years when someone at our food pantry saw it on Craigslist and bought it. We've been using it for about two years as the deck slowly rotted off and the frame became completely covered with rust.
About six weeks ago after a heavy food haul I said "enough!" I pulled it home, took it apart and proceeded to rebuild the entire trailer. Frame has been lengthened and re-welded with new cross members installed, a new deck made from 5/4 decking and new metal rails all around. I installed all new lights and painted it two-tone, (yellow and orange - I wanted it to stand out).
I have to admit, I proud of the work I did. For a hack welder like me using a lot of scrap metal, it turned out pretty sharp. I wish I could post pics but am unable. If you happen to be in central Florida and see a yellow and orange trailer rolling down the road - that ones mine
