Bought a new 1LE Camaro with the man's trans. Shifts smoothly once warm, but it takes about 15 minutes to reach that point. I'd like to improve upon the cold shifting performance. Factory fluid is the #88861800 aka rebadged Dexron III.

Looking at full-synthetic alternatives I've found Motul Multi-ATF, Amsoil Torque Drive, Royal Purple Synchromax, Redline D4 ATF. Anyone know which of these is best or have another suggestion? Thanks.

All of those should be in the same viscosity range of approx 7.0-7.6 cSt at 100 deg C. So I don't think any of them will give you improved cold temp performance than what you already have. I've used plain old Valvoline Dex 3 and now the GM Manual Trans Lube (rebadged ATF with some extra anti-wear chemicals)in my T56 and it's about the same at cold temps. If anything, I think the simpler conventional ATF DEX 3's would give you the best cold shifting characteristics...which is close to what the GM #88861800 is.

With your trans I'd probably use one of those full synthetic ATF's (Mobil 1, Amsoil ATD, Redline D4, etc.) as they have a much stouter additive package than the GM product (ie more phosphorus, boron, calcium, zinc). You could go the next level up for more at temp gear/bearing protection such as GM/Pennzoil synchromesh, but that will probably give you even worse low temp shifting performance. Since you're car is new, I'd stick to factory recommended fluids until warranty is up.

You'd have to drop down to 5.8-6.5 cSt (ie Max Life ATF and other LV ATF's) to notice improved cold temp performance...which is against Tremecs recommendation to stay with Dex 3 viscosity.

Any of them will work fine. Maxlife will also work, and is very popular on here. Any full synthetic ATF will give you a good result

Have a '16 Challenger R/T Hemi 6speed. I've found after you start it up shift it through the gears while just sitting there. Very little 2nd gear nibble. Got a gallon jug of Red Line D4 ATF going in shortly.
