Great, now they don't only just spontaneously accelerate but they also spontaneously combust!
Not sure how a wiring harness inside the car wears out. It shouldn't be moving. If it moves then the wires can fatigue and fail. Bet the fix is something minor, involving a bit of tape or some sort of support.

Meh all OEM's have recalls. I had 6 on my Journey for some pretty important stuff that I had to have fixed. This is a model they have made for over a decade and the one I had wasn't even just after the mid-cycle refresh so there is no excuse for those recalls but whatever...
Yes, I'd rather they recall the thing and get in front of a potential issue before some bad things happen. There's a fair amount of newer, late model cars burned up on copart. That haven't been in accidents. Kind of makes you wonder.
Toyota has been proactive with recalls since the accelerator pedal fiasco. They don't wanna chance anything for good reason.
Ford on the other hand with the 2011-2017 Explorer leaking exhaust fumes in the passenger compartment doesn't concern them.

I got a completely new rustproofing job on my Tundra when it was nearly 10 years old and I was the 2nd owner. Toyota removed the truck bed and completely stripped the frame down to bare metal and rustproofed the whole frame at no cost to me. Now the truck is 15 years old and is still my daily driver.
