And XOM is working with either Afton, Lubrizol or Infinieum(or some weird Japanese chemical company) for getting that add pack. Seeing how Aisin makes Toyota's transmissions, only Aisin would know the exact chemistry.
However, since Toyotas are now filling the ranks of rental fleets as well as private and government fleets(Prius), that also gives Ashland/SOPUS/XOM and the add pack suppliers a test fleet as well. MaxLife is a compromise, but it does come very close to Toyota's specs but without looking at the lab results or spec sheets(not Valvoline ones), we don't know for sure. But then again, there are many here and on other forums who are using MaxLife with success.
