Looking for a Toyota long life coolant equivalent for my Camry 2003 4 cylinder as the book calls for

I’m drawn to the viscosity that the OEM coolant has which seems to be much lower than in pink alternatives from what I’m reading

and also the Toyota dealership wanted $220 for a gallon of red coolant lol (you read that right)

Has anybody found a close alternative to the long life (red) as opposed to the newer pink?

Viscosity of the coolant? For one thing Toyota Pink is always pre-diluted whereas the Toyota Red is a concentrate if you’re purchasing OEM. No coolant using ethylene glycol as a base is going to be inherently more or less viscous than another of the same concentration. It’s impossible as well as inconsequential.

In my old Toyotas I used red for many years but for the past 6-7 years it was Zerex Asian Vehicle. It worked fine.

I’ll probably opt for zerex Asian, if I’m understanding correctly .. can ratios of the ethylene glycol be different in the pink vs red?

Toyota pink Super Long Life Coolant is just Toyota red concentrate mixed 50/50 with distilled water. I generally pay in the low $20 range per gallon for it at a Toyota dealer, only a couple of dollars more than the Zerex Asian. Why don't you just use it instead?

Idk what you’re asking. If it is pre-diluted it will say so and will likely have on the label “Do Not Dilute” or something like that. Concentrate will give a diluting table referencing the coldest expected temperature as well as an ultimate min/max concentration.

I’m wondering if the finished products have different viscosity’s .. post mixed. Also i must admit im unsure if it’s a stupid question lol

I have Prestone pink all Asian makes in my Camry. From what I read, Toyotas don't seem to be that picky about the coolant like people say Hondas are.

That's a common myth, but it’s false /
They use different chemistries: Red contains silicates and borates, while Pink is a silicate-free OAT formula designed for much longer service intervals /
If you mix them, you're essentially downgrading the Pink's 100k-mile lifespan to Red's 30k-mile maintenance schedule /

I used Aisin ACT-002 pink in my Prius (RIP)

I believe the pink replaces the red in older applications..?
That’s what they say although they keep selling red as well and that’s been that way for years so who knows. I always went to the dealer for red because the cost was reasonable, but one time it wasn’t convenient so I used the Zerex product because they had it at Walmart. It seems fine.

I recently read a post which stated that the pre-diluted concentration of the coolant they purchased was more like 60% water, not 50% as stated on the label. I'm not sure of the brand that they tested or how it was tested, but there's only one way to be sure.

Even though I've posted this picture many times, the rumor that I sell these is NOT true! :)

Coolant viscosity?
Do I see a BITCG in the future?
Toyota pre-mix pink is $20 a gallon.
It's a great choice for your Toyota and readily available.

I'm using Nulon One Coolant in my Toyota. It's compatible with all other coolants and guaranteed to last 10 years or 1,000,000 kms (~621K miles).
