Toyota has 2 different coolants:

Long Life: Red in Color
Super Long Life: Pink in color

I think that the red is good for 5 yrs and the pink for 10 yrs?

Is this right? Would the red be good for about 50,000 miles or so and the pink for 100,000 miles?

It says on the bottle that they are good for those lengths of time, but there is no way I would go that long without doing at least a radiator drain/refill.

My plan in my corolla is a rad drain/refill every year or two years max, regardless of mileage. The $20 or so for a couple gallons of the pink every couple of years to me is worth it to keep fresh fluid/fresh additives in there.

Just my opinion

I heard it was over $ 20.00 a gallon for it. So a couple gallons would be pushing $ 40.00-45.00. But still cheap insurance in the long run I guess.

I drain and refill my rad and res. on my 2003 Camry with 2AZ-FE I4. It takes exactly one gallon of the Ultra Long Life to refill the rad and res. on my car. So I have been draining and refilling like this once a year since new. I will never need to flush it and since it is pre-mixed their is no need to pick up distilled water etc.... I am considering going to an every other year routine at this point.
