True. I only mentioned the NHL to counter the mocking of the MLB Championship being called the 'World Series.' Because people think this is America declaring themselves as 'the World.' But the best in the World do come to play in the league. If you play baseball in Iceland, your dream is to play in the World Series, and if you're good enough you can. The NHL is just another good example. And yes, the Super Bowl is the world chamionship of 'American Football.'

The "world" Series is more of a "class" than rather a "claim"

The World Series is "World Class" the highest one can go in a SPORT. Sports are ran by sanctioning bodies, the bigger the body, the greater the sponsorship and prestige.

Nobody in the U.S. of America is claiming the top Soccer event, the "World Cup" but we have no problem taking out the scumbags at FIFA. Only if the "world" could be trusted to fairly run a sport! America does not have much of this problem(NASCAR you idiots)

I'm probably one of the biggest Blue Jays fan on here, I've got season's tickets and I've been to every single post season game in 2015 and 2016. The Wild Card game and game 3 of the ALDS were two of the most exciting games I've ever attended. Of course the most exciting game I ever saw was game 5 of the ALDS last year when Jose Bautista got the three run home run that won the game, after the craziest 7th inning ever in the game of baseball. The loudness of the fans in the Roger's Centre at all of these games is so intense! I can't wait until Monday night for the first home game of the ALCS, and I really hope the Jays make the World Series this year, those games will be off the charts loud!!
