Topping off 5W-30 with 5W-20?

Been using Havoline conventional oil in my '01 Intrepid for a year or so now. Just changed the oil yesterday and for the ________ of it tried Valvoline Maxlife conventional 5w30. From what i've read on here, the Havoline has a decent amount of moly in it, but the Havoline 5W-20 has even more than the 5w30. I have to top off my fill since 5 quarts doesn't completely bring it up to max, so I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried or has any opinions on topping off 5w30 fill with 5W-20.

I see no problem with topping up your fill of 5w30 with some 5W-20, it will just slightly thin your oil, which would be just fine for winter use.

I use 5w20 as a top up in the winter for my 5w30 built engine. Starts better and allows it to warm up faster.

Nothing wrong with it at all.

Topping off 5w30 with 5w-20 would work fine. Many times a 5w30 will shear down to a 5w-20 anyways, so you'll just be thinning out the oil a bit.
