Topping Nu Finish?

Would like to wax the beater ("aka the Cobalt")for the winter, with the wax we have. A buddy gave me a bottle of nu finish I would like to use. Would also like to finish up the bottles of Meg's that I have left.

It is okay to top the Nu Finish with a few coats of Meg's? (and a bit of extra winter protection......

No need to.....NuFinish has a very long lasting shine....

Since its your beater....why spend the extra time and effort when NuFinish will do a more than satisfactory job.

Very true. The Nufinish is more than good. If you really want to get serious put another coat of that stuff on. Haters can hate but I have seen through experience how good that stuff works.

The Megs will not protect or last nearly as long as the NuFinish. Just put a good coat or 2 of the NuFinish and you will be good for a long time!

IMO, just use NuFinish as from my experience it will outlast Megs 2X times. Wax once with NU and then a second coat.

Just be careful to not get NuFinish on plastic trim.

In my experience, you need a reasonably good surface to put NuFinish on, or you're just wasting your time. The first time I put it on our Acura, I wasn't happy with the results at all. It turned out MUCH better on my then-new '11 Camry. The difference is I needed to clay bar the Acura, and after I did, I was much happier with how the NuFinish went on and stayed on.

If your "beater" is like many and sees fewer-than-average car washes and possibly sits outside, I'd probably clay the car first.

Most (not all) waxes when applied chemically remove any other "coats" of wax applied.

I recommend not applying the Meg's, just put one good coat of the NuFinish.

It does get washed more than average, but I might save the claying until spring more due to time....my main goal at this point is to protect it from salt as best as I can...

That's the cleaner wax. It'll just take whatever you have on the car off. If you have a pure wax like #26 on the other hand it may enhance the finish.

All you need for the Cobalt is Nu-Finish..Nothing else.
