Gibson has made some of the best flattops there are over the years, including the Hummingbird...
But there really is no substitute for a Martin flattop.

Depends on what sound you like. Martins are excellent, but if you want a Gibson sound, only a Gibson will do.

If you can't do it on a Strat ,it doesn't need to be done. that being said Fender guitars are Rock and Roll tough, they don't break as Gibsons or Jacksons do .My son can break a block of iron. There are lots of nice guitars on the market. My son wanted a Les Paul I said I doubt it as the headstock breaks way to easy I have seen it often. I purchased Warmoth parts and we bolted the parts together wired it up and it is way better than a Les Paul Studio at the same price and is a nicer guitar for the same $$$.Sounds killer and has better pickups tuners etc and the headstock hasn't broken . Also my son can Assemble and properly setup a Guitar now.
well i dont care what anyone has to say, deans are the finest guitars on earth, i own a fender gibson jackson and a dean, and the dean would have to be the best, has great sound, doesnt break easily, it isnt made with a bunch of ---- parts, they come with very good parts on it, mine came with seymour duncan pick ups, a ebony buit in neck, floyd rose and tune locks, deans are just the best. simple as that

I personally like the understated/sleeper look of a Strat, Les Paul or a Washburn.

i dont care about how the guitar looks. or any of that. if u ever pick up one of them you will see what i mean, the guitars have excellent tone and are built well, and arent just built with ---- on them like fenders, i agree gibsons are very good, but deans have to be the best guitars, they dont just have the razorbacks, they have hard tails and flat tops, that run about 5,000 or more, they arent just thrown together.

i care what people say, but i just have to disagree, i think fender is a great brand. but i really think dean is getting up on top.

I just would like to see how many major guitarists in the world will switch to Dean, and throw away their Fenders in the near future.
