The 1/2 in drive nitrocat 1200k is a decent gun good power feels reasonably well buil. Definetely a good diy gun. It's also very quiet!
Now my main complaints its doesn't provide good feedback maybe that's because it's so quiet.
Also the balance of the tool is not to great it wants to tip forward and wears your wrist out if you aren't used to it.
Another thing I don't care for the indexing on the grip.
Overall I'd buy it for home use but for every day at work all the time I'd want a gun with more feedback and better balance. But for the price it's a good gun overall! Seemed pretty strong the one bolt I found that it wouldn't budge nothing else would either without heat so I can't complain about strength. If your looking for a diy air impact this is a good choice imo.
Any questions feel free to ask away!

Wasn't the recommendation for auto use the 1150? I wonder how they vary on the items you didn't care for.

The 1150 is better suited for automotive use.

The 1150 has the more desirable twin hammer mechanism and provides the feedback your looking for. The Nitrocat has a pin and clutch mechanism and isn't best suited to automotive work, it provides lots of torque right out of the gate with the feedback of a hammer.
This tool can snap bolts off way too easily. I thought it was clear in the thread you had.

Edit: Your right the pin and clutch mechanism makes it nose heavy.

I've had a 1200k for nearly four years. I don't use it professionally everyday, but I've used it quite a bit (I've got a decent sized garage with a lift in my backyard that lots of friend and family cars wind up in on the weekends

). I've never snapped a bolt with it. Definitely not saying it won't snap bolts, just providing my very anecdotal experience with it.

Given the suggestion that Trav has stated in the threads here lately, I'd probably buy the 1150 if I were buying one today, though.

I bought one of these a month ago, and it's probably going to become my go-to impact for 90% of what I do...

The mix of power and size is awesome.

The 1200 will be there for all the bigger stuff.

Well locally or within 50 miles anyway I couldn't find a store that had the air cat 1150. The nitrocat didn't break anything it just doesn't have a lot of feedback I guess that's by design. It is nose heavy though. I don't regret buying it it served a purpose for me in the mean while and the snap on guy gave me the full price I paid for it on trade for a new snap on impact.

which snap-on? for how much?
I thought you needed one that wouldn't break the bank or are you on installment plan.

The aircat 1150

its currently 143.61 on amazon with free prime 2 day as well.
(or 8.99 overnight)
